January beach weekend

We decided to take a trip to the beach last weekend, because the beach house wasn't rented, and the weather was supposed to be great.  We just needed a change of scenery after all the cold/nasty weather we have had lately.  It was so nice to get away, walk out on the beach, ride the golf cart, and just enjoy being together.  Both kids did great as far as sleeping goes which can always be hit or miss when we aren't home.  They both love the beach as much as I do.

We were planning to go Friday afternoon, but work got so crazy, and I was very stressed by the end of the day that I just decided we would leave Saturday.  We stopped first on Daniel Island to visit with the cousins, then hit the grocery store and finally made it to the beach house by about 4 on Saturday.  The only downfall was the heat was not working downstairs, so it was freezing inside!  We ended up just hanging out upstairs in the bedroom, because it was way too cold to sit downstairs.  We finally got the fire to work on Sunday, and it was much warmer outside, so it wasn't too bad.

Sunday morning we had brunch with my mom and Bill, and Sunday night we went to my sister in-law's house to celebrate her birthday.  It is always crazy when all the kids are together, but it makes me so happy to see how much they all love each other.  It really is a special bond that they all share.  Katelyn definitely thinks she is one of the big kids now and doesn't want to be left out of anything!

It was a great weekend, and I can't wait to get back to the beach when it warms up a little bit!

We had to stop at the Kickin' Chicken.  You should have seen how much Brady ate.
He loves a chicken sandwich.

They love the grocery store.

We had to wear our winter coats and hats inside!

Please excuse my socks/shoes combo.  It was this or my TBs, and I didn't really want to wear those on the beach.

Someone brought their parrot to brunch- talk about weird...

Brady loved it though!

Coco and Bill and the kids would only look at the camera, because the man put the bird on my head!

Katelyn was making herself a feast in the playroom.  She put every bowl, cup, and plate she could find on the table and then sat down to enjoy :).

So beautiful!

Our typical family golf cart selfie.

She loves a slide!

She is a sweet little momma and is loving her baby doll that Santa brought her.

A New Year, A New Attitude

Well hello, it's been a while.  I said I was going to get back in the swing of things and then I fell off wagon again for a while.  But, I am going to try to be better about keeping this little blog of mine updated, because I really do enjoy it.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous 2015 so far.  Like the rest of the world, I am trying to start the year off right by eating better and losing a little weight.  I am not setting any real "resolutions", because lets be honest, we never follow through with those.  I am just saying that I am going to try to make better decisions on all fronts (eating, spending, etc.).  So far I have had to say no to cake, rice crispy treats, AND donuts that were all brought to my office this week.  I am very proud of my will power, because sweets are my weakness!

We have had the most terrible weather lately, and I am so ready for spring.  It has been cold and rainy on and off almost all of January.  It is hard to find activities to keep the kids entertained all day trapped inside.  Brady has become obsessed with the show Fireman Sam, so we have been watching wayyyy too much of that lately.  He was practically putting Katelyn in a headlock the other day, and I told him to stop.  He told me, "But momma I'm just trying to rescue her like Fireman Sam!"

We have tried to get out and play during any "dry" and not freezing moment.

Katelyn got her haircut the other day, and the hair dresser put these adorable little piggies in!  She loved it.  I know you are probably thinking, "haircut, what hair?"  But, believe it or not it was getting really long in the back and just needed some shaping up.  It was looking a little too mulletish.

The kids keeping Riley company at breakfast :).

I am just dreaming of warmer places everyday, and I can't wait until my kids can get back in some fun spring/summer outfits.  I am dying over Katelyn in this bubble.  I mean, how stinkin' cute?!

Speaking of clothes, I am selling some of Brady and Katelyn's gently used clothing in order to fund my addiction to precious children's clothing.  If you are interested, there is still some stuff for sale, and I will add more sporadically as I find things to clean out.  Follow @bksmockedresales on Instagram if you are interested.  It includes boys clothing sizes 3m-3t and girl's clothing sizes 3m-18m.

Linking up with Natalie and Annie for Thoughts for Thursday.

Christmas Day 2014

Santa came, and he definitely spoiled these 2 sweet kiddos.  It was the best Christmas yet.  They were both so excited, and it made me so happy.  I'm sure you could guess that the "race car" was Brady's favorite gift.  He didn't react quite as excited as I expected, but I think he was just so overwhelmed that he was speechless.  He wanted to sit in his car to open the rest of his presents.

Katelyn adores her playhouse.  She immediately walked in it, and when I asked her if she wanted to open her other presents she said, "No".

They had so much fun.  My dad and step mom came over to have a late breakfast with us, and then we headed to Paul's grandmother's house that afternoon.  It was such a fun day, and my heart was so full.  My sweet husband and my two precious children were the only gifts I needed (although I got a few things myself :).

The race car!

She loves her new house!

Had to take it for a test drive.
