I'm a soccer mom

I have officially become a soccer mom!  Brady has been so excited about his "soccer party" as he calls it.  I felt so bad, because his soccer practice got rained out two weeks in a row, and he was so upset about it.  It has rained so much that they had their first game this Saturday without ever even having a practice!  Poor child had no idea what he was doing, but he did great.  At first he was a little overwhelmed and got sort of upset, but towards the end he got into it and would run and kick the ball.  He did score a goal on the field next to us, does that count??  This child doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, so he is not one to get in there and kick the ball away from someone.  We will have to work on that, but overall it was great.  I know with a little direction, he will catch on quickly! Oh, and pretty sure they lost by a landslide, but that's alright!

My soccer star!

There he is, #11!

This is what he kept doing at first.  He would constantly run off the field and hold on to my legs.  He was just so overwhelmed and not sure what to do!

We were so happy to enjoy some warm weather this weekend.  It has been so cold and rainy here lately that we have made sure to soak up the sunshine when it comes out!  I love getting to see those sweet baby arms and legs again!

LOVE!

We took Katelyn on a little nature trail around our neighborhood lake while Brady went with Papa to visit his Great Grandmom.  She loved it.
Here's to warmer days, and wishing winter farewell!

Life Lately

About this time of year I start getting really anxious for warm, summer weather.  I'm longing for those long days, warm nights, days at the lake, weekend trips to the beach...oh how nice that would be right now.  January and February are just the worst.  I know I don't have much to complain about living in the south where our winters are mild to say the least, but I still can't help but wish away the cold weather.  We had a "spring tease" this past Sunday with 70 degree weather, and it was so nice!!

We haven't been doing much exciting over here other than our typical routine of school, work, and hanging out at home.

Brady went to the Monster Jam with his daddy this past weekend, and he had a blast.  This boy still loves cars and trucks more than anything.  Katelyn is starting to get really into playing with her baby dolls and all things girly.  She is talking up a storm now, and seems to have turned from a baby to a big girl over night.  I'll just leave you with some pictures I have taken lately.

January beach weekend

We decided to take a trip to the beach last weekend, because the beach house wasn't rented, and the weather was supposed to be great.  We just needed a change of scenery after all the cold/nasty weather we have had lately.  It was so nice to get away, walk out on the beach, ride the golf cart, and just enjoy being together.  Both kids did great as far as sleeping goes which can always be hit or miss when we aren't home.  They both love the beach as much as I do.

We were planning to go Friday afternoon, but work got so crazy, and I was very stressed by the end of the day that I just decided we would leave Saturday.  We stopped first on Daniel Island to visit with the cousins, then hit the grocery store and finally made it to the beach house by about 4 on Saturday.  The only downfall was the heat was not working downstairs, so it was freezing inside!  We ended up just hanging out upstairs in the bedroom, because it was way too cold to sit downstairs.  We finally got the fire to work on Sunday, and it was much warmer outside, so it wasn't too bad.

Sunday morning we had brunch with my mom and Bill, and Sunday night we went to my sister in-law's house to celebrate her birthday.  It is always crazy when all the kids are together, but it makes me so happy to see how much they all love each other.  It really is a special bond that they all share.  Katelyn definitely thinks she is one of the big kids now and doesn't want to be left out of anything!

It was a great weekend, and I can't wait to get back to the beach when it warms up a little bit!

We had to stop at the Kickin' Chicken.  You should have seen how much Brady ate.
He loves a chicken sandwich.

They love the grocery store.

We had to wear our winter coats and hats inside!

Please excuse my socks/shoes combo.  It was this or my TBs, and I didn't really want to wear those on the beach.

Someone brought their parrot to brunch- talk about weird...

Brady loved it though!

Coco and Bill and the kids would only look at the camera, because the man put the bird on my head!

Katelyn was making herself a feast in the playroom.  She put every bowl, cup, and plate she could find on the table and then sat down to enjoy :).

So beautiful!

She loves a slide!

She is a sweet little momma and is loving her baby doll that Santa brought her.
