KVD 3 months old

Katelyn is 3 months old, and boy has time flown by!  It seems like she is growing at twice the pace as Brady when he was a baby.  We just have so much going on that the days fly by.  I am going to blink, and she will be in kindergarten!  We love this little girl so much.  She is just the absolute sweetest.  She gives us the biggest grins and the sweetest little coos all the time.  You feel like she is having a conversation with you.  She is so talkative already.

She is wearing size 6 months clothes and size 2 diapers, although she is about ready for a size 3.  Her sleep patterns still aren't too predictable yet.  Some nights she sleeps 9-10 hours and others she is up every 4 hours.  I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that we have been all over the place the past couple of weeks, and she has not been able to sleep in her own crib.  We all get much better sleep when we each have our own rooms :).  She typically takes a morning nap about an hour or so after she wakes up and then a good long nap in the afternoon.  Then she just snoozes short little naps here and there through out the day.  We aren't really on a schedule yet, but I am working on that.

She still loves her bouncey chair, and she really likes her play mat.  She will bat at toys and really watches everything around her very intently.  She loves to be held by mommy, and she likes to put her hands in her mouth.  She still will not take a paci.

She is still pretty much 100% breastfed.  She has bottles here and there, but not too many yet.  She is still eating every 2-3 hours during the day.

This little girl was lucky enough to celebrate her 3 month "birthday" at the beach!

That boy of mine

That boy of mine, he is a trip!  I had to do an update about what he has been up to lately, because he is just Mr. Personality these days.  He is so funny.  In one moment I will be so frustrated with him (terrible twos), and then he will do something to just crack me up.

Everything belongs to someone, and he likes to point it out, "momma's toast," "Waldo's shoes," "Papa's car," "baby sock"...and so on.  As I mentioned, we are currently living at my dad's house.  Every morning when my dad comes out of his room ready to go to work he says, "Waldo's shoes".  Then when he is about to leave, he says "Waldo's car!", "Waldo vroooom" (he drives a Mustang).  He knows the drill, Waldo puts on his shoes, and then he gets in his car that goes vrooom! He takes after his daddy in the sense that he does not forget a thing.  That boy remembers everything, and he will remind you of it often.  He scraped his knee when he went with his Papa to visit his Great Grandmom a couple weeks ago.  Since then at least once a day he tells me, "Papa knee".  I ask him, "Papa helped make your knee better?" "Yea," he responds.

He loves to wear everyone's shoes.  We find shoes all around the house, because someone goes and finds them and puts them on.  He is very into his routine.  Before nap and bedtime he says, "fan off!", which actually means "on".  Then, we have to turn on his sound machine and musical night light.  On our way to the crib he has to tell everyone and everything "night night".  Such as, "night dada", "night dog", "night night" (to the statues in the window).

We have entered the fun world of potty training.  He definitely knows when he has to go and how to make himself go.  Although, he does not always want to go on the potty nor does he tell me.  But, even the potty's belong to someone.  The upstairs bathroom is "dada's peepee", my dad's is "Waldo's peepee" (which is a personal favorite of his, because it has a flusher that you pull up on the top), downstairs is "momma's peepee".  And, yes that is correct, not potty, peepee.  He will also tell me "momma poop" or "dada poop" which will be really fun the first time he announces this in public :).  His favorite part of going to the bathroom is the "hush" (flush).  So, the problem is he will go a little bit then want to flush, then he says "more peepee", he goes some more and flushes again and so on.  I don't want to discourage him from the potty, but geez I don't have time for all that!  Overall he is doing really well with it for not even being 2 years old.  We did try big boy undies one morning, but they were quickly wet and it didn't seem to faze him one bit, so we will wait on those for now.

He hears EVERYTHING, and he loves to mock you.  If daddy swats a fly, Brady pretends to swat a fly.  If Katelyn hiccups, Brady pretends to hiccup.  My favorite is when he starts yelling "Paul, Pauuulllll".  I wonder where he gets that one from?  He loves to run off and "hide", but when I ask "Brady where are you?" he responds, "I don't know!"

He loves his baby sister so much.  When she starts crying, he tells me "baby cry, baby eat!"  He loves to kiss her on the mouth.  She is the only one that he likes to kiss on the mouth, but he specifies "mouth!"  He also says, "Shhh baby seep" in the cutest little whisper.  When he sees her sleeping he tells her, "night night baby!"  He does not call her Katelyn yet, just baby.  He tries to be so helpful with her.  He will bring me the boppy pillow and tell me "baby eat".  Or, he will bring my a "biper" aka diaper and "baby ipes" aka wipes.  If Katelyn sneezes he says, "bess you baby".

He loves his sunglasses and his hat.  You better make sure you bring his sunglasses in the car, because he will start screaming "eyes!", and if you don't have them, Lord help you, because he will yell the whole way.

He loves to hear "airpanes" and "choochoos".  He has VERY good hearing, and always hears them when they go by.  He also likes to look for birds.

One of this absolute favorite things is his bubble bath.  This is somewhat new, because for a while he was scared of the bubbles.  I got in the bath with him one time, and we turned on the bubbles.  Since then he always wants a "bubble bath".  And, he will tell me "momma bubbles, baby bubbles".  A few times I have gotten in there with the two of them for the simple fact of killing two birds with one stone. He absolutely LOVED that and frequently asks for us to get in with him.

He is the absolute sweetest boy in the world.  When I walk in a room, he will say, "Hi momma!"  He also says "love you momma." The other day I was putting on his shoes, and he just leaned over and gave me a big kiss on the mouth.  Talk about melting my heart....

I just love that little boy of mine so much!

Turning 26 at the beach

There is no where else in the world I would rather celebrate my birthday than on the beach in Charleston, SC.  It is my happy place, and I think I could spend all day just starring at the ocean.  My mom happened to have her condo the week of my birthday and invited us to come down for a couple of days.  It was the perfect little getaway, and I had the best birthday!

The trip didn't start out too gracefully.  Paul had to pack the car in the absolute pouring rain, while I was inside hearding wild animals  watching Brady and Katelyn.  He was soaked by the time we were ready to leave, and both of us were not in the best of moods.  After a rocky start, we had a mostly pleasant ride down.  Both kids fell asleep within about 10 minutes of the trip, but Katelyn did wake up ready to eat about an hour in.  Luckily, Brady went right back to sleep and all was well!

We finally arrived to this gorgeous view and were happy to see that the rain missed Charleston.  The weather was absolutely perfect!

The morning of my birthday, we decided to hit the beach with this cool dude.  My mom was nice enough to keep Katelyn while we went out there.  Brady had a BLAST! Nothing makes me happier than seeing him have so much fun.  He was just running around splashing in the water yelling, "weeeeeeeee!"  It was the cutest thing ever.  We stayed out there for about an hour until my mom called saying Katelyn needed me to come in.  I had such a good time with my 2 boys.

Mr. Cool

I love my sweet boy!
He was so hilarious with this wheel barrel.  Someone must have left it in the closet at our condo.  He wheeled that thing right up to the elevator, waited for it to open, picked it up and wheeled it in.  Then, when we got to the bottom floor he picked it right up, wheeled it around, pushed it out and did circles with it in the parking garage.

Pushing the wheel barrel.

Pure joy!

A perfect birthday morning :)

Look at the sky. SO pretty!

After the beach, Paul kept the kids while my mom and I did a little shopping at the outlets.  I can't tell you the last time I have been shopping for myself.  It was a perfect afternoon outing.

When we got home, we had to quickly get ready and head to dinner.  Paul made reservations at a new place on Mt. Pleasant called Crave.  Paul's brother and sister and their families (minus Walt and Emmie who were in Columbia at their grandparents house) joined us for dinner.  I had such a good time, and I am so glad that everyone came to celebrate with me.

My mom and Brady.

My family- I'm so blessed!

This is my favorite one! Guess what Brady was pointing at- a car, who would have thought??

Me and my girl

The whole crew
The only negative part of our whole trip were the sleeping arrangements.  We got no sleep while we were there.  The first night we had Brady's pack-n-play downstairs in the 3rd bedroom.  He woke up at 5am screaming bloody murder and would not go back to sleep.  He then came up in our room and woke Katelyn up too.

The second night we thought we would all sleep in our room since we figured he might have been scared waking up not knowing where he was and being by himself, mistake.  Katelyn decided to wake up at 1 and then again at 4.  We managed to not wake Brady during the 1am feeding, but at 4am he woke up too. He was wide awake and refusing to go back to sleep.  After fighting to get him to lay back down for about an hour we moved his bed BACK downstairs and put the monitor on mute (mean parents, we know).  We DID check on him, and he actually fell back asleep for a little while thank goodness!

I had a wonderful birthday.  There is nothing that I enjoy more than being with family.  I know the beach is not quite as relaxing now that we have to kids, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thankfully the kids must have been as worn out as us with the lack of sleep, because they both slept until 7:30 this morning which was AMAZING!

On our ride back, we picked up Brady and Katelyn's cousin, Henry, to take him to Columbia for the weekend.  I love seeing these 2 cuties together who are just 2 months apart.

Ready to go!

...and passed out!
