Katelyn's 1st birthday party

We celebrated Katelyn's first birthday with a strawberry themed party.  Both of my kids LOVE strawberries, so I thought it was fitting.  I had a lot of fun planning and decorating for the party.  I think that Katelyn and Brady both really enjoyed it.  Thank you so much to everyone who came to celebrate our sweet girl!

Singing happy birthday to Katelyn.  She was clapping along!

Caroline and Brady- they were being silly.

She is a lucky girl to have such a sweet, loving daddy.

2 of my favorite people in the world- my brother and my dad

These 2 rank very high in Brady's book too.

Diva girl

KVD 12 months old

I knew this day would sneak up on me so quickly, but I can't believe Katelyn is 1 year old!  I think her first year flew by even faster than Brady's.  Sometimes I just wish I could bottle her up at this age and keep her forever.  While I am looking forward to seeing the little person she will become, it makes me sad that she is growing up so fast.  She is the sweetest little thing, and I just melt when she smiles at me with her infectious grin.

She has grown so much in the past month or so.  Here are some of her latest things:

1.  She is a speedy crawler and pulling up on everything!  Her favorite place to stand up is in the bath tub of all places, which of course makes me a nervous wreck.

2. She is starting to "talk".  She says, "yea"- with a quick little nod, "nooo"- which I think sometimes actually means yes, "uh-oh" which was also Brady's first "word".  I use that term lightly, because I don't know if that is considered a real word.  And, of course mama and dada.

3. She gives you this little grin where she squints her eyes and shows all of her teeth.  It is the cutest thing.

4. She loves her brother and watches him all the time.

5. If I have been away, when I come home or just come in the room, she crawls so fast over to me.

6. She will mock things I am doing like sticking my tongue out or making a clicking sound with my mouth.

7. Her favorite things are bath time, playing in the play room, and riding her car in the drive way.

8. Her favorite foods are spaghetti, yogurt, strawberries, bananas, peaches, pineapple, squeeze pouches, cheerios, gold fish, vanilla wafers, and graham crackers.

9. We switched her over to whole milk, and she loves it.  She is still doing a bottle a night and in the morning, but she uses a sippy cup during the day.

10. The girl loves her sleep.  She goes to bed about 7pm every night and wakes up between 7-7:30 usually.  She loves her naps too and never complains when we put her down.  When she is at home she still takes a morning and an afternoon nap, but at school she only takes one nap after lunch.  She is usually really tired when she gets home, so sometimes she sleeps from 4-5:30 or so when she gets home.

11. You reach your arms out to me to pick you up.

12. You give me big mouth wide open kisses.  They are the best :).

13.  You like to point at things, but you point with your whole hand not just one finger.

14.  You wear size 4 diapers, size 18 month clothes, and size 2 or 3 shoes.

15.  You have 6 teeth (4 top and 2 bottom).

Katelyn, we love you more than you will ever know.  Brady loves you so much too.  He always talks about you, and he always wants you to do whatever he is doing.  He can't wait for you to be able to run around with him.  This has been such a great year for our family.  You are absolutely everything we hoped and prayed for.  I can't wait to see what this next year brings (but, don't grow up too fast!).
