34 weeks

34 weeks!

We have made it to 34 weeks, which happens to be the same week that Brady was born.  We went to the doctor today, and all is well with me and the baby, for the most part.  I don't have any of the same problems I was having in my pregnancy with Brady at this point, but I have been noticing slight contractions here and there.  I happened to start feeling these at the doctor's office and mentioned it to her.  She wanted to hook me up to the monitor to see how often they were coming and make sure that I wasn't having any that I was not feeling as well.

They have a very nice room with super comfy recliners and a big flat screen TV, so I really didn't mind sitting back there for 45 minutes.  That is the most relaxing I have done in the middle of the day in a long time!  I was showing some contractions on the monitor, but they were not coming too often, and they were not too strong.  The doctor did not seem too concerned, but put me on what I would call "modified bed rest".  Given my prior history, she suggested that I should probably work from home from here on out and limit my activity as much as possible (which is a lot easier said than done when you have a toddler).  They are estimating that the baby will come around 37 weeks.

Other than that, I have been feeling great!  I am so thankful that I have not had the same back pain that I had with Brady, because I really don't know how we would handle me being on complete bed rest!

How big is the baby? About 18 inches and 4 3/4 pounds (according to babycenter.com) I'm thinking she probably weighs a little more than this already given Brady's birth weight was 5.5 lbs.

Weight Gain: Up about 25 pounds from my starting weight

Gender:  GIRL!

Maternity Clothes? Oh yes

Sleep? Not sleeping so well these days.  I have to get up at least 1-2 times a night to pee, and I also have to switch from side to side a lot, because my hips start to hurt being in one position for too long.

Food Cravings/Aversions:  I eat Chick fil a at least once a week, and I pretty much have some sort of dessert every night (healthy, I know).

Movement: Lots of movement still!

What I miss? Being able to bend at the waist and having energy.  I am so exhausted all the time!

What I'm Looking forward to? We are scheduled for an ultrasound at 36 weeks to see how big the baby is and her position since they expect me to deliver around 37 weeks.  That, and meeting our baby girl of course!

In other news, I went to a baby shower for my friend, Bridgette, this past weekend.  She is having a sweet baby boy and already has a little girl.  I just love catching up with my girlfriends that I don't get to see that often.

All the girls! (Megan, Bridgette, me, Shelley, and Lauren)

Bridgette (32 weeks) and me (34 weeks)!  We decided this one can go in their slideshow at the rehearsal dinner when they get married :).

Easter 2013

We traveled to Manning, SC to spend Easter at Paul's grandmother's house.  Brady participated in his first Easter egg hunt.  He kept walking around yelling "ball!"  He would get so excited when he got one.  He didn't want a basket.  He just carried one egg in each hand, and he was happy.

He was also very excited about the dog that was at the house.  Paul's aunt and uncle have a black maltipoo.  He chased the dog around everywhere yelling "a dog, a dog, a dog".  That poor dog was doing her best to get away from Brady.

"Ball!"

The best of the family picture we attempted to take...

Daddy and Brady (cute despite the closed eyes)

Trying to get a picture of the cousins, but Brady would not leave my arms.

Playing the piano with cousin, Amelia.
We had a great day, and Brady had a blast!
